Do you give your lips the attention they deserve? Perhaps you apply lip balm every so often…but they’re still shouting out for more?
Just like the skin on our faces, our lips need a little TLC too!
Did you know that our lips are the FIRST tell-tale sign when you need more hydration? All those icky flaky lip
s moments, is actually our bodies way of telling us to drink more water!
Take a look at your lips in the mirror – do you see any flakes, or are they feeling a little rough and in need of a little plumping?
If you answered ‘YES’ to any of this, and your lips are feeling a little unloved or perhaps in need of a little anti-ageing BOOST, then get ready…this is going to transform your lips from dry to FLY!!
BEST of all, this lip makeover is 100% natural and can be made at home with just a few items from your kitchen cupboards! HURRRAAAAH!!!
For the best results try to use ORGANIC ingredients only. WHY? Because this means you’ll only be putting goodness into your skin and the results will be far more effective!
In a dish, mix a teaspoon each of the following:
1 x teaspoon of Coconut Oil
1 x teaspoon of Honey
1 x teaspoon Brown Sugar
1 x teaspoon of Cinnamon
Mix together all of the above ingredients in a small dish and place in a little plastic pot! It’s that EASY!
Take a generous amount and massage into your lips with a circular buffing motion for around 5 minutes.
The buffing motion reveals the newer cells of your lips, by removing the dead or dry skin, giving them a new softer glow.
To finish, just wipe away with a damp cloth and apply coconut oil to your lips for EXTRA moisture.
Your lips will immediately feel softer and smoother! Your lips will also start to ‘plump up’ from a tingling sensation, but don’t worry – this is to be expected. The cinnamon is getting to work by encouraging blood to flow to your lips to plump up and create more VOLUME in your lip area!
Should you not wish for plumper looking lips or this feeling, then simply leave out the cinnamon.
Apply twice a week for optimum results!
Coconut oil has good amounts of the antioxidant Vitamin E (which protects and repairs your skin) AND it’s also a wonderful moisturiser.
More than any other vitamin, Vitamin E is one of the most powerful agents linked to reducing ageing and age-related conditions. As we age, our levels of vitamin E decline – Eeeeeek!!!
Free radicals are molecules that damage collagen and cause our skin dryness, fine lines and wrinkles – but antioxidants such as Vitamin E help neutralize this effect! They can also help prevent premature skin aging and damage to your DNA.
Since our bodies can’t produce it, you need to make sure you get plenty of Vitamin E through your diet or supplements.
Much like coconut oil, honey is a great natural moisturiser that also has incredible healing and antibacterial properties. So not only does it smooth and soften chapped dry lips (while tasting YUMMY!), it actually helps heal them too!
Honey’s amazing healing powers is due to it being both antiseptic AND an antioxidant! Working as a natural energy booster, it reduces allergies, soothes sore throats….and its great for an anti-aging kick start as honey is a powerful aid in helping our beauty sleep!
Brown sugar is such a wonderful exfoliator for the sensitive skin on our lips. It’s much softer than regular sugars, but STRONG enough to scrub away dead skin cells and make way for the healthier, glowing skin to show through!
Brown sugar contains something called ‘glycolic acid’ – but don’t let this word scare you! Glycolic acid is a totally natural forming acid that skin LOVES because it fights bacteria plus it helps slug away old skin to reveal new, fresh and more youthful looking skin! It also helps to improve sun damage and offers support to ageing skin. SWEET!!
Who knew that cinnamon is nature’s secret to plumper looking lips!? Cinnamon stimulates the blood flow under the skin on your lips and in turn forces the extra blood flow to plump up. You’ll feel a slight tingly sensation, but this is okay. It’ just the cinnamon encouraging the blood flow. If you don’t want plumper lips then you can leave this ingredient out…and lose the POUT! 🙂
