Have you been feeling run down lately, suffering from colds or perhaps a cranky tummy? If so, what I’m about to share with you may just be ALL you need to get your health back on track!
While visiting a nutritionist a while ago, I found out just HOW important taking a high-quality daily probiotic supplement could be for my overall health. I wanted to pass on the advice to you!
This simple immunity tip has made the world of difference to how I feel and I hope it helps you too!
When your immune system is low, you struggle to fight off bad germs, but introducing good bacteria into your body may help restore your natural levels…and keep you fighting STRONG!
You’ve probably heard probiotics mentioned from many different places, most commonly referred to as the ‘good’ or ‘friendly’ bacteria…which sounds rather pleasant! In fact, probiotics originate from the Greek word pro meaning ‘promoting’ and biotic meaning ‘life’…a pretty good start!
Probiotics help promote gut health which in turn helps to improve your whole immunity.
Gut health is a HOT topic at the moment!
Doctors, nutritionists, and health gurus all agree that having a healthy gut is key to maintaining a healthy body – it’s thought that the healthier your digestive tract is, the stronger your immune system will be.
And the stronger your immunity is, the BETTER you feel!
There’re lots of commercialised yoghurt drinks ‘claiming’ to be a good source of probiotic, but beware – most are full of sugar and don’t contain enough good bacteria to have any positive effect on your gut health and immunity.
As a rule of thumb, I try only to buy natural (i.e. no chemical) probiotics from organic food sources. I’ll try and buy the very BEST I can afford at the time. You can research probiotics online and read reviews about each one.
I take my probiotics every day, but I’ll up my dose each day after a course of antibiotics, why?…
Antibiotics are great for killing off harmful bacteria in our body, but unfortunately, they can also wipe away the ‘good’ bacteria at the same time. Not COOL!
This is why SO many of us suffer from unpleasant side effects while on antibiotics (such as upset stomachs), and why doctors often prescribe probiotics to help restore that balance again.
I’ve not had any BUT I always advise doing your research OR consulting a doctor before taking supplements just to make sure they will suit you AND your circumstances.
For me, probiotics have helped strengthen my immunity. I’ve found I’ve caught fewer colds and have been feeling more alert and less tired (famous last words!!!) HA HA!
I hope if nothing else, reading this blog inspires you to research what a high-quality probiotic supplement can do for you and your family.
